Celebrity Marketing Backfire

Novak Djokovic proudly told the WSJ he was “convinced” a $75,000 CVAC pod pressure chamber  (something like Lady Gaga’s entrance maker at a Music Award show), helped his game.  “I think it really helps – not with muscle but more with recovery after an exhausting set”.  I’m sure the company was thrilled the #1 seed tennis player acknowledged their product, only to have the player reject the claim a few days later.  Opps!  Djokovic later stated he only used the pod “a couple of times last year” and that it “has nothing to do with my success”.  It will happen in the world of celebrity marketing…best to look for another athlete to acclaim the pod’s merits for a quick recovery.
